2nd Alarm Fire in Palmyra

Mon, Mar 8th, 2010 1:28:27 am - Early this morning, county dispatched box 1-02 for a working structure fire. Squad 8 went responding minutes later with 5 personell. While the Squad was enroute, Chief 1 requested a second alarm, bringing Engine 8 which responded with 4. Crews arrived on scene to find heavy fire from the rear of a three story house which had been converted into apartments. 8 crews staged in manpower for a short time before being sent to work. Various tasks were performed including searches, truck work, salvage, and overhaul. Squad 8 also provided lighting and filled cylinders throughout the incident. Company 8 was on scene for roughly 4 hours before returning to quarters.
