This afternoon Engine 8 was dispatched to assist company 5 with a possible carbon monoxide problem inside a structure. The engine hit the street with 5 and arrived on scene behind Rescue 5 and EMS to find the occupants of the home evacuated and feeling ill. Crews monitored ths structure and found very high levels of CO. The source was deterrmined to be coming from a coal stove in the basement. Crews removed the coal from the stove and ventilated. Company 8 was then released while company 5 performed a last round of metering. Engine 8 was out for about an hour. |
